No plan to sell tower business to Jio: BSNL NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam restricted (BSNL) Wednesday described as "absolutely fake" a recent record talking about the possibility of a sale of the nation-run telco's mobile tower enterprise to Reliance Jio Infocomm.


On Wednesday, a Hindi-language each day stated that the authorities-controlled telco became seeking to sell its tower arm to the Mumbai-based non-public telco that has commercially launched natural-play fourth-era (4G) services in September 2016.

“This is completely false,” BSNL Chairman Anupam Shrivastava advised ETTelecom.
“there's no fact in it. Had BSNL desired to sell its mobile towers to any personal area firm, it wouldn’t have formed a separate agency and brought them below it,” Telecom officials association (TOA) fashionable secretary Anil Kumar Tiwari added.

The Narendra Modi-led government has already allowed telecom carrier providers to percentage their infrastructure with other operators and covered cell towers, diesel generator units and battery units.

Cell tower sharing has contributed near Rs 1,000 crore in 2016-17, as part of nation-backed telco’s collaboration method.
